Makes: 4 dozen
Description: Our grandkids love making M&M cookies - mixing in M&Ms is a lot more fun for them than mixing in chocolate chips. These go very fast at our house. If you don't have M&Ms, 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips work just as well.
Ingredients:
1/4 cup
light brown sugar
1/2 cup
granulated sugar
1/2 cup
softened butter (1 stick)
1/2 cup
vegetable shortening
1 1/2 tsp.
vanilla
1
egg, lightly beaten
1 3/4 cups
all purpose flour
1 tsp
baking soda
1/2 tsp
salt
10 ozs
M&Ms
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 375.
Blend brown sugar, granulated sugar, shortening, vanilla and the egg in a large bowl or stand mixer.
Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add to the sugar/butter mixture, and stir to incorporate until blended. Stir in the M&Ms until well mixed.
Place approximately a teaspoonful at a time onto cookie sheets, leaving about 2 inches between the dough balls.
Cook 10-12 minutes at 375, remove from oven, and cool.
I made thease for a cookie monster that is 2 years old who's fav right now is BLUE M&M so this was perfect.. I do wish I did not have to use the shortening tho.. I was to afraid not to so I did but they were delicious...
THANK YOU SISSY546!!!!!!
Yes, you always pack brown sugar when measuring. Hope this helps.
More of a question then a review....because I don't bake very often, the 1/4 cup of brown sugar, is it "packed" or not? Very easy for me to screw even the simplest of recipes up, so I need specifics. Anyone can answer, please! Thanks
These are so great and easy to make. It was a big hit in our home.
These sound great, and the recipe is very similar to the one we use. We like to use half M&Ms and half chocolate chips as well.
Comes out perfect everytime and only has 2 ingredients
Super fast and super yummy!
