March 10 is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS awareness Day. It is a day to recognize the special risks HIV/AIDS poses for women and girls, and to raise awareness of the disease's increasing impact on them. If you are a parent, have you spoken to your children about HIV? Please share your stories. We want to know.
Yes (11.5%)
No (88.5%)
That number must be astronomical. I do not have a child, but if they were in their teenage years, this would definitely be something I would discuss with them.
Oh my goodness, that number is shocking and sad!
I feel like this is an issue that people have forgotten. Now that people live with the disease for many years, it seems to have lost focus as a threat...and it still is a threat!
That's horrible, but not surprising. There is a lot of cheating going on out there.
wow. That's horrible.
damn, shitty
As difficult as it is for some parents to discuss things like this with their children, I imagine it would be so much more difficult to deal with one's child having HIV/AIDS. Education and awareness are so vitally important especially in light of these statistics.
In my daughters sociology class today, AIDS came under discussion and two people got up and left the class.I sure wish they'd stayed and let everyone know how they felt about the issue. Not speaking of it does no one any good.
HIV / AIDS will allways be here.we dont hear about it as much because if caught early, medicines prolong life.Look at magic Johnson,he caught HIV how long ago?We just have to instill in our children morals.
That is one of the most heartbreaking statistics I have heard in a long time. Why are we not hearing more about this in the news??????
