My best friend since third grade has always been there for me, whether to just listen or to help by giving me advice. She has been there for me through two divorces, having kids to having a lot of medical issues. I couldn't have made it this afternoon without her.

I support my child in all things, even if I am not in agreement. It is their life and I want them to know that I am always in their corner!

9 years ago the oldest daughter of a good friend became estranged from my friend. I spoke with my friend about wanting to help, and I "auntie"-ed her daughter for several months - made myself available for messaging, met up with her to share coffee, helped gather items she needed for her nursery, and just in general tried to be supportive. We didn't discuss her parents, and I kept my friend in the loop., Before long, the daughter and my friend reconciled. I moved away and am not in as close communication these days, but we are all still fond of one another.

When I am feeling defeated and feel like everything is going wrong my family helps me to remember to take things one day at a time and assures me everything will be ok.
