At SheSpeaks, we've been inspired by so many women, both those we know personally and those we've never met. Here are just a few of them:
The woman who has positively influenced me is my mom, Ying Lo. She has taught me to never doubt my intuition and to go for what I love to do. She is the reason I am 100% my unapologetic self and strive to do more with my life. - Gaonou
Aside from being an amazing author, J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter) faced a lot of rejection and persevered to see her vision come to life. She gives back generously, speaks her mind and holds true to her beliefs. - Stephanie
She was an amazing woman who grew up in a time with gender role expectations, yet went on to receive her Master's and start various organizations, including women’s organizations. She was incredibly wise and always gave the best advice. - Melissa
When my oldest son was born, I met a group of amazing new moms. We started going out to dinner once a month and we haven't stopped for more than twelve years. These women have inspired me to be a better mom and a stronger person. They also taught me how important it is to support other women - and find women who support you. - Susan
Serena Williams is more than just an incredible tennis player. She also uses her platform for good and has become a great role model for all, but especially girls, sisters and now moms. Her passion for excellence is inspring. I love her new Nike video that says it all. - Carol

A few women have inspired me and continue to everyday! I could name the women that inspire me and give examples of the things they do that inspire me however. I'd rather give praise to those that I don't know but they help the homeless, they're a loyal friend, they don't tear others down, they're compassionate, they haven't aloud the world to break their kind and generous spirit!
Serena Williams! She is such a strong woman!
ALL women athletes have inspired me. This crap of allowing transgender males to compete in women's sports is just wrong! Women have worked hard and earned a spot in athletics! Babe Didrikson Zaharias was amazing, Chris Evert, Bonnie Blair, Wilma Rudolph, Jackie Joyner-Kersee-- all these women inspire me every day! Just to see what they overcame in a mens dominated world of athletics! Go girls, When someone use to tell me I throw like a girl, or I run like a girl, I would tell them THANK YOU!
Women who are survivors and later thrive in life despite a history of verbal/ emotional/ sexual/ physical abuse . As a health care provider I have the distinct honor of meeting just such women on a daily basis . Their stories and struggles are real and so is their determination and courage !
My Aunt!
For me, my mom inspired me to be kind and try to balance your life. My 7th and 8th grade science teacher showed me that women can do things and work in fields (such as science and math) where few women worked back in those days. Heck, not enough women work in those fields now!
I am inspired by all the women who have run for and got a political seat in office recently!
My Aunt
My mom inspires me through the sacrifices she has made to support and uplift her family.
My mom!
My mother and grandmother are my biggest influences. They taught me that no matter how poor you are the only thing they cannot take away from you is your education. And that you must be able to afford to take care of yourself and your children and to never depend on someone else to take care of you. They are/were very strong women and I am so very fortunate to have been raised by such beautiful, smart people that knew their self worth and instilled in me that I must know mine. - Raquel
My mom
My mom and three sisters.
My mom
Dr. Mae Jemison inspires me as the first black woman in space. Her focus on STEM education is needed to prepare the next generation of scientists and innovative thinkers.
