Normally we don't do much for eachother on Valentines Day, or I am the one who gets the gift and a great dinner. This year, I've saved my money to be able to surprise and treat him to a special day.

Sometimes I feel that we go overboard on gifts. But this year that was one of the things we decided to cut back on. Our house is full of STUFF I would rather go to a movie or make dinner together etc.

My husband and I either go out of town or stay home and I make something. This year we'll be staying home and enjoying a 4 course, fondue based meal. It's always great to take our time and catch up on things and reminisce about years gone by.

Really rough year and can't afford much for Valentines when there is a birthday the day before Valentines.

I like to keep things simple. We celebrate Valentines Day all the time. We are spending Vday as a family. Depending on the weather we may just go to a park during the day. I tell my husband not to buy me flowers because the florists jack up the prices on them. I also dont care to go out that day because its cheaper to just eat dinner at home. Its all about saving $. I got my husband & son some chocolates to enjoy. Along with fresh strawberries.

Just please remember to say "I love you!" Next Valentine's Day, that opportunity may not be available.

We don't buy too much. We just like family time- with a 3, 2 year old and one on the way, I am happy with just a at home movie night and a nice breakfast. I got the kids and hubby -candy and Valentines and I will decorate, they will be excited!!

I love my husband, but he is a TERRIBLE gift giver. He really isn't in tune with what would be considered a "thoughtful" gift. Plus he usually forgets those (what he calls) a Hallmark holiday. I try to be more valentine themed. Heart shaped breakfast, little candy kisses, homemade valentines. Money is super tight right now, it's a great time to remember how crafty I am!
