I've really been taking my time at the grocery store and comparing the price per ounce. I know it takes longer, but I have been able to keep to the budget by doing this. I shop lots at wal-mart and they are not always the cheapest, especially on basics like milk eggs and bread. I've also learned that a lawn service is nice, but cutting the lawn myself had save $$ and help me get into a smaller pair of jeans!

I do alot of comparison shopping as well. I get great deals on health/beauty items and sometimes even food from the drug stores. After the bills get paid, we have about $200 to last the month for gas and groceries. I shop at a local grocery store, they have better selection and prices on meat, as well as milk and a few other staples. If somethings on sale, I stock up. I have been asking my neighbors for their sunday coupons, so I have extra coupons. A few weeks ago, one of the grocery stores had Green Giant veggie steamers on sale 10/$10. I was able to get 5 extra coupon inserts that had $1/$1 off the steamers, making them free! Using coupons and paying attention to the sales ads has really helped bring my grocery budget down.

My feeling is that if we didn't have it before, then we will be fine without it. I used to love to buy little trinkets for the house. Now, I realize that all those things were made in China. I would prefer to give my money to people who work in the USA. So for now, we aren't spending except on the essentials and we aren't eating out as much. Maybe once or twice a month (usually inexpensive meals). **Sometimes life is beautiful when things are simplified.**

When its time for me to go to the store, I always try to find the sales first, including double coupons day, make a list out and then out . However since it is getting harder hold on to jobs, stretching out money as little as ten buck, I feel like a complete failure to my little sibling who need me to provide for them. More so when there no jobs in Chicago. But I keep my head up high and still look for bargain items. I always go to dollar plus stores for soaps, clothes, such, since the sales are always there for a whole weeks.
