If you were given the power to make changes that would improve your shopping experience, what type of retail store would you most want to impact?

How many times have you gone into a store and thought, "Why is it like this? It could be so much better!" From the long lines at the wholesale clubs (because only half of the lanes are open!) to rude and inattentive sales people to messy racks at some stores where you can't find your size in the place its meant to be!  Some of our shopping experiences seem ripe for improvement!

If you were given the chance to make a shopping experience better, which type of store would it be and why?

Grocery Store (36.2%)

Department Store (7.6%)

Mass Merchandiser (Wal*Mart, Kmart, Target) (39.1%)

Club Store (Costco, Sam?s, etc.) (4.9%)

Discount Store (TJ Maxx, Filene?s, etc.) (6.5%)

Drug Store (1.6%)

Big Box Retailer (Home Depot, Staples, Toys R Us, etc.) (3.8%)

If you were given the power to make changes that would improve your shopping experience, what type of retail store would you most want to impact?

Have to agree - the play area for kids would be AMAZING. My kids hate going to the grocery store. That makes this chore even more awful.

Walmart definitely needs to keep their products in the same place! I don't know how many times I have went in to get something knowing where it was and BAM - it is re-located!!! How nerve racking. Not to mention that they are starting to carry less brands in their stores too. Brands seem to be disappearing off of their shelves for good and they mostly buy China made products! Their clothing line is crappy anymore and cheap made clothes. They may have some better prices, but beware, especially in the quality of their clothes. They do not restaock their shelves promtly either. I don't know how many times I have had coupons for products, that I know they carry the brand, but won't have available what the coupon is for. For example, they carry Meow Mix brand cat food and treats, I had coupons for a newer Meow Mix treat (for free) and you can not find it at any of their stores. After the coupons expire, then they are all out on their shelves. Really now, what gives????

Just a small note on the response I read where outdated food should be turned over to help feed the homeless. I agree too, but unfortunately the reason they can't is because, if it is outdated and given by the company to them, if a person(s) fall ill from the food, that person then in turn can sue them for it. So they can put it in the trash, and the homeless then have to "dumpster dive" to get it and the company is no longer responsible for the outcome of the person(s). It is sad though. I think they could come up with some sort of system to keep the company from being liable if they give the food out to those who desperately need it.

My thing is everytime you get used to a product in the grocery store they either change it,take it off the market or go up on the price. And another thing why is there an expiration date on the coupons?

I would love it if grocery stores would offer FREE cooking classes.

Our grocery store just had a facelift and now I can't find a thing plus they discontinued to carry some of the more reasonable priced items I purchase, so now instead of spend an hour in the store it's more like two hours or so.

I think the racks get to packed! It's hard to shop when you can't see the item on the rack, I don't want to pull each thing out to look at it.

It's difficult for a handicapped person to negotiate their way through the clothing department without having someone roll racks aside. Frustrating!
