We have stopped eating out and started eating meals at home and that has saved a good bit of money. Finding stores with double coupon programs is the way to go and always check for clearance/markdown meats ready to go out of date.Gas prices are slowly dropping here now if they could drop the price on a gallon of milk!

We are a family of 4 and I'm trying to use more coupons at the grocery store since the food prices are so high right now. We are also trying to eat in more and not eat out so much.

It breaks ny heart to read these posts with many losing jobs etc. - we are one of the lucky ones with 2 incomes n the prime earning years- but we also are cutting back on spending. Our 401Ks are shrinking faster than we ever imagined! we thought we were on the right track to a solid financial future for retirement in 15 years, and now it looks grim.we stopped going to Dept stores and only go to Target / Walmart when we absolutley need to . Our grocery bill has declined due to buying meat and chicken on sale and freezing it. I grow my own herbs for cooking, and for entertainment we work in our yard and gardens. We entertain at home with simple BBQs. This economy has put a new perspective on what is important and I feel good about some of the changes we've made. Thanks for listening!

unfortunately i have already cut back on non-essential things, now the extras at the grocery store have got to go. We are getting creative on how cheaply we can prepare a meal though!

I feel a bit better since my boyfriend has moved in. That has actually cut my rent and utilities in half. However, having to share my space now has taken some adjustment, and now I have new things to worry about like an increase in utility usage and talk about wedding and the like. I guess I just traded one worry for another :)

I tend to buy stuff I do not really need at the food store and walmart. Especially for my 3 yr old daughter. I just can't help it, I want to buy her everything. I think I need to leave her with daddy while I shop and this will help cut down on spending. Also I should not go food shopping hungery!!

I agree with alot of you on the "all of the above" answer. It is very hard to make ends meet now, not shopping at most of those places. I am not sure what to do but, to trust that the Good Lord will take care of me as he has always done.
