According to a new report, Dads don't seem to get as much love on Father's Day as Moms do on Mother's Day. We are spending more than 20% less on Dad than we do on Mom!
So, we were curious, did you buy a Father's Day gift this year? If so, how much did you spend? Please tell us what you think. We want to know!
$200 or more (7.3%)
$100-$199 (12.5%)
$50-$99 (22.4%)
$25-$49 (22.5%)
up to $25 (35.5%)
No I didn't buy him a gift I did make him dinner. But if I would have bought him a gift it would be around $25.
I bought my husband and 2 daughters tickets for World of Outlaws Sprint car races. That was $60, plus a new pair of shorts and t-shirt. I also bought Gran Torino, and a new lawn mower.
I don't spend as much only because my dad is very hard to shop for. He won't tell you what he wants or needs, so you have to guess, and then when you get him something, he makes a big fuss on why you shouldn't have. One year, my siblings and I pooled money together and gave him a ton of cash to buy a new bicycle, and he still has that wad of cash in his nightstand because he thinks we shouldn't have done that. :) He is a great guy, just hates gifts. Moms are just easier....
Material gifts could never begin to compare to how much I love my dad. He has done so much for me and raised me to honor him and others. He is the most wonderful dad in the world. I bought him a t-shirt and granola (one of his favorite things). If I had spent thousands of dollars on him it could never even begin to repay him for all that he has done for me and taught me.
My dad loves birds, so I bought him a bird house and a bird book. I spen $35 and he was thrilled!
my 8 yr old made her dad a cast of her hand in the "I love you" sign. My 12 yr old picked out a movie and card for her dad.
my daughter made her dad a cast of her hand
I got some free stuff online a hallmarks card I orderd april and arrived may, I hid it from my husband and then I went to a near by Best Buy grand opening..They offered $20 giftcards to the first 50 people so I was an early bird that day..and thats really it, My son drew him a fathersday card, I know he enjoyed the day.
I got my dad a huge bottle of Hendricks gin and super fancy Q tonic so he can make his favorite drink with the best ingredients.
It's always the thought that counts! You could spend alot of money on something that isn't as meaningful as something that's handmade or inexpensive.
