When you eat out with friends, do you split the bill evenly, contribute just what you ate, or take turns paying? Do you use Venmo, PayPal, credit cards, cash or something else? How has this changed since mobile payments became commonplace? Tell us your favorite bill-paying strategies and you'll be entered to win $25 toward your next meal (paid how you want to spend it: Venmo, PayPal, or Amazon gift card!) We usually just split the bill or take turns being the one to buy we've never done venmo or PayPal.

Honestly, we still do it the old fashion way and cook at home! If we really have to end up going out to eat with friends instead of a BBQ or whatnot, we'll do it old style and get split checks so everyone can do their own thing! (I don't own credit cards, I'm a cash is king kind of person!)

The servers usually gives each one a separate bill. We pay with either cash or card.

I love going out with friends and luckily we live in a big city so most restaurants will do separate checks. If it is all on one bill, we just throw in cash and one person will put it on their card. We don't have any issues and we all pitch in for a tip.

We split the bill, paying just for our own. And I still only use cash or debit at restaurants.

We just do separate checks, or cash for our amount if it's a place that can't split the bill.

We do separate checks because it is so much easier. We will use cash or multiple credit cards if need be. I use Paypal but not to be paid when we're at restaurants.

I try to keep my order very simple. I then pay just for what I ordered--usually just an entree. I am usually alone when eating so it's not something I deal with often.

When eating out with friends, it really depends on the friend. We often pick up the full tab, split the check and give full tip as if combined, or keep all on one bill and use Venmo, CashApp, or Zelle to pay one another back. Times seemed to have caught up because we went cashless for a bit so it was more difficult to pay back unless you had checks on hand and now we have cash apps, so we can digitally transfer cash instead of physically handing it off.

We split our bills equally. And expensive drink and deserts are paid separately.
