When you eat out with friends, do you split the bill evenly, contribute just what you ate, or take turns paying? Do you use Venmo, PayPal, credit cards, cash or something else? How has this changed since mobile payments became commonplace? Tell us your favorite bill-paying strategies and you'll be entered to win $25 toward your next meal (paid how you want to spend it: Venmo, PayPal, or Amazon gift card!) We usually get separate checks.

With friends we each put in our food cost plus tip. (I know to bring cash) With my mom I will use my credit card. Then later she gives me money and says this is for the Applebee's lunch or Del Taco drive thru. And if I try to tell her no she puts it the glove compartment, which ends up being money for lotto tickets :)

We usually take turns paying with the other person leaving the tip. I usually pay by credit card and leave cash for tip. Nothing has changed since mobile paying has become commonplace.

When I go out to eat with my friends we always just get separate Bill's. It's just easier that way. I am always using my debit/credit card to pay for things like that.

Usually split between couples or individuals. Pay for what I ordered, unless I had offered to cover something. Typically pay by card. I don't use mobile payments. Try to sit together to make the bill easier to split or just address it when requesting the bill.

Venmo is an amazing option to use. I end up spitting the bill evenly because people usually want to rack up the points on their credit card or have one person serve at their atm while the charge the whole thing. Whatever is the most fair and easiest way, I am in!
