Barbara Jordan has been a shero to me since Watergate. She was so impassioned and concise in her statements, questions and information she was willling to impart to the general public.
the women that have inspired me are my mother and Frida Kahlo. My mother always taught me to be myself and Frida Kahlo's story has inspired me to be brave.
My mother, for always keeping a roof over my head, my belly fed and the 2 sometimes 3 jobs she always seemed to have to make that happen!
There are so many women who have inspired me. Just to name a few: Elizabeth Warren, Sonia Sotomayor, Nancy Pelosi, Greta Thunberg,Jacina Ardern, Taylor Swift, Malala Yousafzai, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Michelle Obama, and Kathrin Jansen. Each of these women have stood up for themselves and for the wellbeing of the most vulnerable, regardless of the criticism they have faced.
My Mom & Grandmother have inspired me because they stood up to others to receive equal treatment and an education.
There are so, so many to admire, so just a sampling here: Harriet Jacobs; Lorraine Hansberry; Sandra Day O'Connor; Mary McCarthy; Rosa Parks; Malala; suffragettes; and so many, many, many more!!
I am so grateful for Harriet Tubman. She changed the face of history for women with her unwaverable justice for freedom and bravery setting the precedence for women everywhere.
Kim Bearden and Erin Gruwell are great innovative educators that have inspired me to try harder, strive higher and reach for the stars to meet my goals for myself and my career!
My grandmother
There are so many who defied the odds of their time, their gender, their social economic statis, their race, etc... Amelia Earhart, Eleanor Roosevelt, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Queen Elizabeth II, Malala Yousafzai, Michelle Obama, Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, Mary Jackson, Madam C.J. Walker, Marie Curie, Irena Sendler, Rosalind Franklin.... SO MANY who have praved the way and inspired to continue breaking the glass ceiling!
♡♡♡
I am inspired by Rosa Parks who refused to give up her bus seat to a white person and sparked a turning point in the civil rights movement. Princess Diana for all of her humanitarian work and Jane Goodall for inspiring generations to conserve and protect our planet's fellow inhabitants.

My grandmother truly inspired me. She was a close follower of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Her actions showed it in how she was always so kind to everyone she came in contact with whether they were back or not! Her husband was not a very nice man, but she never said an unkind word about him to anyone! She just told her troubles to the Lord! I wish I could be that kind to others especially those who are not kind back! It is definitely what Jesus did also! She was a very good role model.(Side note her husband was not abusive to her in any sense of the word) its just that back then women didn't get divorced for just any reason!!
My Mom!! She's the most generous, thoughtful & strongest woman I know. In the last few yrs, she's lost 3 sisters, her husband & her ex-husband, with whom she remained close with, all the while, putting a smile on her face, caring for her grandkids & great grandkids. My Mom inspires Me every single day!!
