Fall means pumpkin spice, cozy sweaters and the launch of the new TV season. This year, there are so many new shows that look intriguing to us. Here are five we are setting our DVR to record.
The idea of creating this series after the success of the originial book and movie has been tossed around networks, producers and writers for years now. But it looks like BET+ (BET’s new streaming service) has pulled through for the win. This reboot of the beloved 1996 movie stars Jill Scott, Michelle Buteau and Ryan Michelle Bathe and will give their fresh take on the old story of three old friends coming together after their marriages fall apart.
First Wives Club premieres Thursday, September 19th on BET+
The great minds behind the hit classic series Glee, Brad Falchuk and Ryan Murphy, have really outdone themselves if the buzz behind Netflix’s new series The Politician turns out to be correct. The new series is a very dark comical look at ambition when a high school student, played by Ben Platt, is willing to do just about anything to become student body president. The series also stars such heavy hitters as Jessica Lange, Gwenyth Paltrow and Bette Midler.
The Politician premieres September 27th on Netflix
Mixed-ish is a spin-off of the hit show Black-ish, which is now headed into its 6th season. Based on the younger version of Black-ish’s character, Rainbow Johnson, Mixed-ish is set in the 1980’s and focuses on Rainbow’s upbringing in a mixed-race family. Rainbow, played by Arica Himmel, will go through all of the trials and tribulations she and her family felt after they move from a hippie commune to the suburbs.
Mixed-ish premieres Tuesday 9pm, September 24th on ABC
Bluff City Law promises to pack in the twists and controversy tough law cases provide. It will also throw in some father/daughter drama between leads Jimmy Smits, as owner of a top Memphis law firm, and his genius lawyer daughter, Sydney, played by actress Caitlin McGee. Sydney reluctantly signs on with her estranged father’s law firm after the unexpected death of her mother, in hopes that she and her father can shake up the justice system and form a tighter bond in the process.
Bluff City Law premieres Monday 10pm, September 23rd on NBC
If it’s not enough that Hollwood rising star Michael B. Jordan has a co-starring role in this series, then the premise will probably do the trick to peak your interest. Netflix’s Raising Dion is based on a short film and comic book created by Dennis Liu in 2015 and follows a mother’s journey as she navigates the world, trying to protect her son who posseses an array of super powers. Though the show has obvious elements of fantasy, the realistic side of motherhood and dealing with her son’s special abilities takes center stage.
Raising Dion premieres October 4th on Netflix

I'm excited to watch How to Get Away With Murder and Supernatural. Unfortunately it's the final seasons for both shows.
This is Us!
I'm interested in Mixed-ish.
Im excited for stranger things, cant wait! Dion also seems interesting!
Blacklist, New Amsterdam, This is Us, a Million Little Things
Unicorn
So ready for the new season of Peaky Blinders!
I enjoy Jimmy Smits-he's made a career out of playing lawyers. I'll check Bluff City Law out. I was (still am) a big This is Us fan, but I actually like A Million Little Things better. I thought it was going to be a This is Us knock-off, and while there are some similarities, it also shines on its own. Ironically-my favorite TV show-Good Girls-is on in the summer! Best writing and acting of any broadcast series, and holds its own against many cable and streaming service "must watch" shows
Cant wait to watch first wives club!
I can't wait for Mixed-ish and Raising Dion.
I can't wait for How to Get Away with Murder and The Blacklist.
Love Survivor, Manifest, and the last season of SuperNatural.
The Walking Dead
I'm a TV junkie, so there are so many. I got to watch the first show of Mixed-ish this last spring and loved it, so excited to see how that one goes. Other favorites are NCIS, Criminal Minds...etc etc!
New Amsterdam
