What do you think Valentine's Day is really about? Our SheSpeaks members have overwhelmingly told us that it's really just a reminder to say "I love you." That's more important than a romantic grand gesture. And even more important than an excuse to break a diet.
Say "I love you" with more than just heart chocolates and red roses! Check out these new ways to show the special people in your life how much you really care. Plus, win $75 to use on someone you love (including yourself.)
Do a tasting of favorite foods or drinks! If your partner loves craft beers, get a selection of local beers with some small tasting glasses. Sample them to find both of your favorites. If your kids love mint chocolate chip ice cream, have a sundae party by buying a variety of brands and see which one they like the best. The possibilities of foods to taste and drinks to sample are endless. Tastings are a unique way to show the people YOU love that you care about the things THEY love. (And if you really need chocolate on Valentine's Day, at least make it fun with a chocolate tasting!)
Get an herb bouquet! Move beyond roses to something that will last longer and make your dinner taste delicious. According to PureWow, beautiful pots filled with plants such as rosemary, lavender, mint, chamomile and sage are the latest trend. Visit a local nursery to put it together yourself, or buy it already assembled. It's a different way to give flowers, and your recipient will remember it and think of you throughout the year.
Pick a class you can do together. Think about something your Valentine has always wanted to learn how to do, like decorate a cake, try rock climbing, or speak Chinese. Whatever it is, choose the class together. Then look around your area. Clases can be found at local colleges, community centers, museums, or even neighborhood shops. Plan a day and make it happen. You'll not only learn something, but it's a great bonding experience.
Spend the day in your Pjs! This is fun for you to do with your partner, your family, your friends, or even on your own. Get cozy and binge-watch some movies, play board games, or snuggle with a good book. Eat candy for lunch and order in dinner. Just enjoy your time doing very little.

I love giving personalized gifts and experiences the most. I like the idea of taking a class together. It's great to focus on our health and spend time together whenever possible!

My boyfriend and I practically celebrate Valentines Day every single day of our lives by always saying I love you. We say it when we get up in the morning, when he leaves for work, when he comes home for work, before we go to sleep at night and several times during the day. This year we'll probably go out to eat or stay at home and watch movies.
I plan to be with him...I hope!
I am planning a special homemade dinner w/ all his favorite foods! He loves to EAT!
Instead of purchasing a massage at a spa, I plan on giving my husband one at home. I'll mix up jojoba and essential oils, turn on the aromatherapy diffuser and create a spa experience at home! 💑😙♥️
I plan on mixing up jojoba and essential oils, turning on the aromatherapy diffuser and giving my husband a facial and massage. Most guys aren't comfortable going for these spa treatments but us ladies know how amazing they are! ♥️
Got a hot tub/ fireplace room at Great Wolf Lodge. Something for the kids & something for us!
