Will you watch the Super Bowl for the game, the commercials, or as an excuse to eat as many chicken wings as you want? Whatever your reason, Big Game parties come with more etiquette rules than you may realize.
Then tell us if you agree and you'll be entered to win a YETI Ramber Lowball 4-Pack, the insulated cups everyone's talking about.
The Super Bowl party is not the best time to catch up with a friend you haven't seen in a while. If you both agree that football is not your priority, pick a spot away from the TV to chat while the game is playing. But remember that everyone in the room will likely be able to hear you, so if you are loud during the game, you can't shush others during the commercials.
YES! Serve a veggie plate next to it for people who care, or make the night a potluck so others can bring what they want to eat. Have those once-a-year treats, and enjoy them. Just don't push your delicious nachos on guests who don't want them. After all, with less people splurging, there will be more for you!
Of course! Trash talk is part of the fun. However, you might want to have a spare TV in the basement or bedroom. If things get too dicey, be prepared to separate your fans.
In most cases, you should find somewhere new to sit. But if you really want to keep your seat, try this: As you get up, shout "fives!" This reserves your seat for five minutes. If your crowd accepts this, you are good - but make sure to come back quickly. However, if someone comes by, sees the empty seat and screams "MOVE YOUR FEET, LOSE YOUR SEAT" before sitting down, then you better find a new place to park.
It's best to join in to some degree. If you really don't want to play, offer to be the official judge of the game, though this may involve you counting talking animals or "wardrobe malfunction" mentions. But try to participate. After all, you are a guest and sometimes you just have to play by the house rules.
Do you agree with these etiquette rules? What other ones do you have? Tell us for the chance to win a YETI Rambler Lowball Cup 4-pack!

Issue #1 cause my team is NOT in the Super Bowl.
Haven't won anything in a LONG time and I like these kinds of bottles
I always make sure I have enough food and beer for everyone!
Running out of food!
Buying too much food for our party.
I am not too fan of football - but Super Bowl is a different thing. I always host it and have finger foods and everyone is more than welcome to bring appetizers. Good to have a mix crowd but not too wild.
I split the room in half with a fifty yard line theme and decorate each side for one team each. I also do the same with the food and have enough choices for the healthier eaters and the cheesy nacho, saucy meatball, brownie, hot wing n blue cheese eaters like myself 👍🏼😋
I chat during the game, during replays!
#1, if I talk, I'd do it in another room. People are to serious on this day!🏈#2, yes! But I'd have other offerings for the "pickier" crowd #3 Why not?! The more the merrier #4, nah, it's all good. Just make sure I have another places to sit #5, this one was the most difficult for me - I do not want to bet, but I think people should have the choice - that being said, I would give ALL who come that option
I will be at a neighbors' house for pregame and then home to watch the game with no interruptions.
I try for healthier snacks but the high fat and calorie ones are always the biggest hits....I have learned the hard way to have what people like or all that is left is the healthy stuff!
I will use this day as my cheat day so that I can enjoy everyone's snacks!
agree w/ some. dont think Super Bowl is time to chat/catch up , leave the room. so many choices, can make low fat nachos, dip, etc. people wont know difference. serve vegetable/fruit platter, salad bar, w/ chicken wings. u invite your friends no matter whom rooting for. it is a party. get 2 tv's. common courtesy not to take someone's seat. if they come back give seat up. dont think there is need to shout my seat. when you get up to get a drink, ask others if they need a refill as well or if there is something else you can get them. sorry i am not for betting. dont think it is good at a small party atmosphere. if people want to bet, do so before the game not at the host's house. if serving drinks, have bar set up. cant post to instagram. tweeted.
Worrying about my husband who is attending the game :P
