Valentine's Day is celebrated as a day for kisses, love and chocolate. But not for everyone. You can now forego the overdone romance and instead just enjoy the holiday with friends (Galentine's Day!), yourself (International Quirkyalone Day!) or your kids (Schoolentine's Day!)
How will you celebrate Valentine's Day? Will you go the traditional route, or will you try something new? Tell us for your choice of a $100 Gift Card to your favorite restaurant, so you can take whoever you want out for dinner in honor of the big red day.
Started by the fictional Leslie Knope on Parks and Recreation, Galentine's Day has grown into a real holiday, celebrated in cities nationwide on February 13. All you need to do is to gather friends and enjoy each other's company - waffles and frittatas are encouraged!
This holiday has also spread around the globe. International Quirkyalone Day is a celebration of romance, freedom and individuality. You can enjoy the day with others or on your own - you are just encouraged to decide what you want to do, for you.
It's a universal tradition: elementary school kids will spend February 14 dressed in red, eating pink cupcakes and giving each other Star Wars cards with lollipops attached. After they ask their friends to "Be My Valentine!" will you continue the celebration after school? Giving your child socks with cupids on them, letting them eat a whole giant chocolate kiss and then serving them heart-shaped pizza deserves a name of its own: Schoolentine's Day!
Or do you prefer to go the traditional route - spending a night out with your partner, giving jewelry or flowers and eating chocolate truffles?
How will you celebrate Valentine's Day this year? Will it be the traditional route or will you go #AlternativeValentines? Tell us for the chance to win a $100 gift card to your favorite restaurant.

This year the hubs and I decided to go all out, picnic, lunch, movie, dinner, cuddles, and all with our boys too, we decided to involve then this year because it's the day of love and boy do we love them hehe
We will celebrate with dinner on a night other than Valentine's Day and my hubby will get me flowers. And some chocolatey surprises for our kids!
We will be spending it at home as usual. Hopefully I won't have to cook again this year!
Spend the evening with my husband
We hope to get the chance to go out to dinner just the two of us. It's rare these days so to get to do that for one night would be perfect.
My husband and I will probably just treat Valentine's Day like any other day.
I have a date with my daughter and my mother to go see the new 50 shades movie! My husband works Valentine's and my daughter is just in town visiting and leaves the 15th 😭 Sad face....
I'll be hanging out with my husband!
I'm celebrating Galentine's Day by going to a crafting event with my sister- making photo coasters and a heart banner and other heart related art!
I just love Leslie Knope and now I want waffles! We'll do the school valentine route, and send them to grandparents too. For us, we'll stay home and get some yummy takeout. I'll also gift a succulent or air plant...because love is like air- essential. And, the kiddos will gift cocoa nip candy bars!
I think I'll be celebrating with my cats, haha.
I will be celebrating with my husband this Valentine's Day. A few days later, we will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary.
I am celebrating Valentine's Day during the day while the kids are at school. It is very hard to get a babysitter. I would love to take my hubby to a nice steakhouse or Thai restaurant and a movie.
As a single mama I'll be having valentines with my main squeeze!! He's 7 and just beautiful inside and out! We have a mama and baby date!
I'll be celebrating with my boyfriend of 3 years & half. Longest relationship ever! So excited each year. Especially since he's been my true valentine.
