As I've gotten older I notice that my hair is less silky. I always use a leave-in conditioner before I blow dry. I think this really helps.
Curly or kinky hair: never style or detangke dry hair..mist with water or completely wet it first, and conditioning helps to add slipage to minimize breakage.
Wash your hair only twice a week. I have been doing this for 11 years. My hair have never looked better!
I use a shampoo for color treated hair and the same brand conditioner. I don't use the hair dryer for more than 3 minutes and let air drying do the rest, style, and I'm out the door.
When I do use flat iron and dryers, I also use products to keep hair moisturized and reduce breakage and burning of my hair, or try too.
I occasionally don't rinse out ALL of the conditioner and leave a little on the ends. This seems to make my hair more soft and smooth.
I grew up with a hair stylist for a mom. She has taught me many things, including not to wash it every day because hair can lose its natural oils, and to moisturize your hair just like your skin, and to try to use Natural products, and how to use treatments and serums and natural homemade treatments. I found that washing my hair at most, twice a week, works for me and I don't blow dry my hair anymore unless I really have to. I also try not to use a flat iron everyday as the heat from irons and dryers can cause damage to your hair as well as frizziness and breakage. I also learned that when towel drying hair, blotting works best. When you wrap it up like a turban, it's more likely to break off. I still wrap my hair sometimes, but I am at least aware of the risk. Also brushing from the bottom of your hair, up to your scalp, makes it easier to get through and has less chance of you pulling out your hair.
I only blow dry my roots to give them volume.. and I let the ends dry naturally (with leave-in conditioner) so the ends to not get dry! Works well!
Cold rinse does wonders for frizz
using a heat protector spray when your even in the sun helps protect color and health of your hair.
Air dry your hair instead of blow drying it
Dry Shampoo every other day. Less washing makes for happier hair.
Put condiioner after each shampoo never skip makes your hair so soft...
I wash every other day but condition every day with Pantene. I use Infusium Leave In Treatment most days and once a week I leave a coconut oil mask on for half a day on Saturday.
Pantene has the best hair care, but I wasn't too crazy about the styling spray. I started using the shampoo and conditioner that has Argan oil and I am very pleased with the results. My hair is softer, shinier and easier to manage. I have very thick, frizzy and wavy hair.
