I've stayed close to my natural color for the past decade but decided to dye it red the night before I had my knee replaced. I thought it might brighten up my face while I was in the hospital. It was a bit drastic. When I put it in my hair, I saw the dye turn a bright orange. I was afraid it would dye it that color but tried to calm myself down when I remembered that some brown dyes turn purple while it's processing. I was wrong, though. It did turn my white hair a bright orange/red. The rest of my hair is a bright auburn by the while really picked up the color. Everyone loved it but I was a bit freaked out. I'm getting used to it, though. I might keep it this way. Well, maybe tone it down a shade or two. But red looks good on me.

I'm obsessed with Blake Lively's perfect blonde locks. I would never have the chutzpah to go from brunette to blonde, but if I could, I'd opt for her shade! My favorite color on myself has been a cherry-like auburn - "dark cherry" - and my favorite compliment from that was having people refer to me as a natural redhead. I love that it looked natural and well-done and didn't come out too bright!

I think auburn/dark red hair color is beautiful. Anytime I've ever dyed my hair this color, I've received compliments. I remember one time someone told me that it looked, "fierce!" :-)
