The trip to work is the only one i can afford to take.
Being retired, the gas crunch has hit our static income very hard. We will travel to places close around; take in the zoo or the local festivities. Maybe this is a way to get better acquainted with our own area.
Luckily, our vacation was planned last summer and we're sharing a beach house with my husband's family. The only change is that we decided not to over pack and drive our VW Rabbit.
The price of gas is so ridiculous that the average family can't afford to go on vacation. It's hard enough to feed your family and keep up on monthly bills. I wonder where all of the oil company CEOs will be spending their vacations. I can almost bet THEY won't be staying home.
Just heared on the news things aren't going to get any better anytime soon. My son-in-law can hardly afford to drive to work now. If gas goes up much more we may have to help them make ends meet. we are also on a fixed income so things could get really rough for all of us. My grandson has autism and goes to therapy twice a week at a hour and a half drive one way. We have to keep up with that. I really never thought we would ever be in the shape we are in now. I hope this all ends soon. I know there are a lot of people who are having it even worse than we are. There will be no vacation for us anytime soon.
I live in FL so everyday is a vacation. The one tank trips we took every weekend. Will probably go once a mo. and walk parks near bye.
It is very stressful for everybody...and it is only getting worse. Unfortunately, my family and I will have to take less outings and stuff. Going to the park is what we will be doing...it's free and it's fun for all.
We are going to Disney this year. We made our plans before fuel costs skyrocketed. The cost of this trip is amazing to me and if I knew then that the economy was going to be this bad, I might have had second thoughts.
It all depends I suppose!
Gas prices are too high right now, and the way it looks it will be going up. Everyone should save what they can, because times will get tougher.
