Its that time of the year again! The time we all dread- April 15th! The average US tax payer spent 24.2 hours preparing their tax return in 2007. That is equal to over 3.1 billion hours spent preparing tax returns in the US alone!
With so much time and energy spent on taxes, we were curious how many people were planning to file tax extensions this year.
Do you plan to file an extension this year?
Yes (9.8%)
No (90.2%)
Finished them in February, but had a computer glitch before I filed, so I ended up redoing them last weekend :P We expect our return in a week or two, and we're using it to pay off what's left of our credit card debt, then we're putting the rest in savings.
We use an accountant since the DH has his own business. Taxes already filed and awaiting our refund!!
We used a free software back in February. It was really easy. Already got back a refund and used half on bills and the other half is in our secret savings.
filed already
I filed last month, just to get it out of the way. I broke even, so there was no reason to wait.
Filed a few months ago!
We filed in feb, much less stress.
We filed our taxes @ H&R BLOCK about 2 weeks ago! Now waiting for the refund to be direct deposited into our checking account! Last year we really waited for the last minute good thing the date was changed so we got to file them on time. Like a day or two before the due date. This was really cutting it close never filed them this late ever!
We filed in Feb. so we don't need to have an extension. This is definatly one thing we like to get taken care of asap. . . espicially if we are getting a refund.
I filed online in january
