Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.
We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

No, I don't trust products advertised on TV (9.3%)
I purchased a smooth away thought it didn't work well at all. I threw it out. Big waste of money!
I saw a CNN plug for Cellulean and ordered a "free" 30 day trial via internet. I provided my credit card number for the shipping & handling. Before they will ship the free trial, you must agree to a continuing monthly shipment that is automatically charged to your credit card and shipped. (Approx. $60 - $80 monthly.) You may stop at any time; however, they will not accept any returns and provide no refunds. If used regularly as directed, you may see some slight cellulite reduction. I was not impressed and wished to discontinue the service. It took 2 phone calls to get the service stopped and I ended up with $160 of unused, unreturnable product. They are banking on you not taking the time to cancel the service.
I purchased a steam mop recently & it really cleaned my floors well.
I bought ProActive one time and it was horrible!!! It gave me these horrible pimples I didnt even have. It made it worst!!!
I bought a ped egg, and have also purchased one of The Firm workout systems, I was very pleased with both.
I bought the bumpits it was just what i needed it worked beautifuly i was happy with the product .
I saw one for Philosphy, which is now sold in Sephora., Loved the product and found a perfume that was great to wear to work and not bother the very sensitives.
Thesewer Over the years I have purchased numerous products from TV and have been satisfied with all.
Like many others, I've purchased a number of "As Seen On TV" products, and have been satisfied with my purchases. One of the caveats, that I suggest to others, is not to purchase the first time you see the product. Go on-line, see what others and saying, and try to get a enlarged view of the product. I've found that by really taking time to get a good look at the product, (what it's made, how stable it looks - if applicable), emotions don't drive the purchase, you do.
I immediately ignore anything that is advertised on TV. They're overpriced and rarely, if ever, work.
