If you were given the power to make changes that would improve your shopping experience, what type of retail store would you most want to impact?

How many times have you gone into a store and thought, "Why is it like this? It could be so much better!" From the long lines at the wholesale clubs (because only half of the lanes are open!) to rude and inattentive sales people to messy racks at some stores where you can't find your size in the place its meant to be!  Some of our shopping experiences seem ripe for improvement!

    Having a complimentary or even a cheaper daycare in places like WalMart or local grocery stores would be more than helpful for mothers with quite a few children doing shopping in the work week. Having a fun and interactive place for your children to be without them asking for everything they see would be ideal, and knowing that it would be safe, and you could just stick your head in and see what was going on would put alot of mothers at ease. Like in WalMart instead of having those tv's up with commercials on them, they could constantly show the daycare and what the children were doing. It would just be nice to shop in peace sometimes!!

    Some of the newer or remodeled Wal-Marts are actually pretty nice looking. Still the racks get messy, etc., but that is from customers. I like the daycare idea. If they did an ID thing like Chuck E. Cheese where you have matching stamps, would make me feel more comfortable that not just anyone could pick up my kid... and I could shop without having "extra" stuff put in the cart.

    I do all of my shopping with coupons and hate when I go to department stores and the coupons don't apply to clearance or sale items. I thought they were trying to get rid of these clothes. Take the coupons and you'll get rid of them faster!

    HOME DEPOT AND MENARDS NEEDS MORE Friendly work staff, more knowledgeable, cleaner, neater displays THIS Also goes for STAPLES, AND MANY WOMEN ARE JUST AS KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT MEN WHEN IT COMES TO ELECTRONICS AND HOME IMPROVEMENT....

    I love to shop in department stores, however, I have trouble finding "real" clothes for everyday. Some are just way too out there or catered only to teens and the much younger crowd.

    I would make sure that customer service representatives were more attentive and not judge by the way you look or dress. It seems as if they look for a certain profile of customer and ignore you if you don't fit there mold. I'm speaking mostly of Dillards and Macy's.

    We build our meals around meat as a main course,and then decide the side dishes. The meat counter should be the first thing you see, and please put bread and bakery last or it gets mashed.Speaking of mashed, give baggers a quick course on how to do their job, they always smash my fruit or bread

    My pet peeve is walking into a grocery store and seeing cashiers chewing gum, drinking soft drinks and talking to each other and not paying attention to their customers that by the way are paying their paycheck. They need to realize that their demeanor and behavior is representing the company as a whole, we can choose somewhere else to shop for our groceries.

    I'm very disappointed with the customer service in most department stores. Having to maneuver through racks placed too closely together, then search through clothing jammed on those racks with no apparent regard to size is frustrating enough. But when I can't get a sales person's attention to get help or even to pay for something, I lose patience.

    Our biggest complaint with Wal-Mart is that as soon as we find a food product we really like they quit stocking it. So frustrating to find something great and then not be able to get it anymore. Usually we can find it at the regular grocery store, but it's more expensive, plus this leaves us shopping in two stores.
