I think the most important things have changed for me as I've aged. Naturally it is vital to hear "I love you" from the people that you love. When I was younger I would have answered "you're beautiful" as the most important......but now I am so much less concerned with my looks and find it more important to laugh! I enjoy making people laugh and smile because it is contagious....makes life much sweeter and easier to get through the "tough" times/moments!
I don't think of I love you as a compliment. Calling "I love you" a compliment takes a way from the true meaning of it. So I picked beautiful b/c it brightens my day as silly as that may seem.
It's hard to choose. I love to hear them all. However, since I have to choose it will have to be Your Beautiful. This not only boost my self esteem it also lets me know I am taking care of myself.
I would have to say "You're Funny." When I'm in a bad mood or feeling a little down, laughter always makes me feel better. To me there is nothing better than the sound of a good 'ole genuine laugh...even better with a snort or two ;-)
It saddens mean that more women prefer to be thought of as beautiful then smart.....I really think that it is sad that so much importance is placed on superficial beauty. How sad.... I'll take being considered smart anyday at least that lasts a bit longer.
I always like to hear that I am loved...
I am happy to be thought of as a smart person. I want to always keep learning more everyday. I feel we are all here to learn. Knowledge is power.
I know I'm smart and funny. But I have low self esteem, so I voted that I'd like to be called beautiful. Although, who knows if I'd actually believe it when it was said... maybe it would just be a wasted compliment on me.
Last week, while my son and I were shopping at the grocery store, a cashier approached us and said the kindest words: "you are truly beautiful and it shows on your son's face!" I thanked her and am still affected a week later by her comment. It made me feel special.
I like it when my intelligence is recognized. Beauty is often artificial, and "I love you" comes too easily. I'm not that funny, so if someone said that to me, I admit I'd be tickled! But, overall, being acknowledged for being smart is a very good feeling...
