The economy seems to be showing glimmers of recovery. On the other hand, many of us are out of work or know others who are. So, we were curious, how are you feeling about spending your money over the last 1-2 months?
Please tell us what you think. We want to know!
I'm spending more (15.8%)
I'm spending the same (33.3%)
I'm spending less (50.9%)
I've been unemployed since December. I do some part timke gigs here and there but nothing to pay more than 1 small bill.
I try to spend less but walking down the block someone $50.00 is gone. Ugh it's really tough.
Hoping to retire in 3 more years and my husband and I are trying to do everything we can to free ourselves of debt. We live a very comfortable life , just do not do lots of extra things, eat out, go to movies, etc., like we used to . We do go camping, but that, in itself, is a money saver because you can travel for a much more reasonable amount of money---full hook-up campsites are very reasonable and we do all our own cooking.
My grocery bill is the one thing i've really cut back on as much as possible - i never bought extravagantly by any means but i'm buying a lot more of the 'saver' brands and always use coupons and rebates where possible.
Income has remained the same
I'm a college student and I kid you not, I have applied to atleast 15 places. No one near me is hiring and I need a job really bad. I have a small part-time job as a sales rep, but that doesn't pay for anything. I think in the last two months I've made like $140 profit. The business isn't that great because people aren't spending money on extra things. I'm stuck and I have no way to make any sort of income. I save every dollar I can.
I am on a budget and I look for the managers specials on meats to receive the discounts. That can amount to 1 - 3 dollars.
I seem to be spending more because we have grandkids and they are always wanting to go places with us. Overall though for my husband myself we spend less - its just when the grandkids are around. Love them though!!
I have been spending more, but it is not by my choice. I am buying the same products and services that I usually buy, only they are costing more. That is why I am spending more. I am not "buying" more... Just spending more to buy the stuff I usually buy !!!
We try not to spend alont of money now just like 1-2 months ago. Although we are planning to do one big family splurge...we're going to Sea Worl and that means we saved extra cash throughout the past six months for this.
