Definitely have not been able to take an "away" vacation in about 5 years; now just when I think we could, the auto industry has hit us very hard; very unsure times so we will probably not venture into a vacation this year.

We will be doing things in our hometown. Gas prices went up again so driving anywhere just got more expensive. Camping in the backyard is going to be our vacation of choice.

I have kids and I think we would have to stay local this summer.

times are getting hard, but, i'm not cutting my vacation competely. thats not healthy! IMO, I think just going on vacation brings your morale up , even though you dont go all out, as long as you do something is good.

The only "vacation" will be to take our oldest daughter to visit colleges within our state. With the economy hitting us so hard, it's all we can afford to do. And even that will be tough for us.

We are planting and tending a community garden plot and increasing our time spent visiting and enjoying local (50 mile radius) free or low cost events and attractions. Getting to know our own backyard so to speak.

I just cannot afford to take a trip especially since I am still in college and have to pay tuition. It is hard to get full time hours for work too so that takes money away as well
