Do you plan to cut back on your summer vacation plans due to the economic environment?

The summer is officially here! This is usuallt a time for many of us to hit the road and take those long awaited summer vacations.

However, the economic situation is having some rethink their summer vacation plans and anticipated spending.

    I am lucky enough to live on an island, where the boardwalk and the beach are in walking distance. So that's where we'll be spending our time. We had planned on VA Beach ,but we have a wedding in Florida, so there goes that. FOUR plane tickets in January.

    I have 3 kids. We go away every summer, and do day trips as well. The price of admission to many parks etc..are out of control. Now, gas being $4.12 a gallon in my area, is just insane. Gas is going up, so are groceries etc...however, salaries are not?? The economy is in the toilet. Middle class america is suffering, badly!

    Due to the high gas prices,we've decide to not go on any vacations this summer. Hopefully the gas prices will go down and the economy will get better if not we all will suffer.

    WE ARE DRIVING FROM PHILA PA TO ORLANDO AND WE'RE THINKING IT'S GONNA BE ATLEAST 700.00 IN GAS FOR THE TRIP...FAMILY JUST TRAVELED FROM OHIO TO PHILLY AND IT WAS OVER 300 ROUND TRIP IN GAS...BUT IT'S TOO LATE TO CANCEL SO WE EITHER GO AND PUT OUT THE GAS MONEY OR LOSE THE MONEY WE PUT OUT FOR THE TRIP..BUT IF THE PRICES ON FOOD AND GAS GOES UP MUCH MORE THIS WILL BE OUR LAST FAMILY VACATION FOR AWHILE...I FEEL LIKE WERE BEING HELD HOSTAGE ON WHERE WE CAN GO AND WHAT WE CAN DO BECAUSE OF THE HIGH PRICES ANYMORE....IT'S NOT RIGHT...AND MY 4 YEAR OLD DOESN'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE CAN'T GO PLACES LIKE WE USED TO ...HE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND...

    My only planned trip this summer is a family reunion. I set the plans last year and I look forward to all the visiting with those I love. The cost is more than we planned but I feel it will be worth it.

    I try to drive as little as possible and since I live at the Jersey shore I would just as soon stay close to home in the summer.

    We had to sell the truck to get a Moltorcycle and then use it most places we go because of the gas prices.

    But then We also have a minivan for the kids and such but gas here in texas is already 4.00 a gallon, its either drive or eat!....CRAZY!!!

    Sure, gas prices are going up, but it's not at the point yet where I am going to forfeit my summer vacations with family!

    Yes, we had originally planned a vacation for June, but have cancelled it.
