We(Louisiana)just had our 1st woman governor. Did'nt go to well with her. Not only was she our 1st,but then along came Katrina and I think everyone blamed evrything on her. You can't control weather.
i think that a woman would do just as good as a man maybe even better.
I beleive that a woman would be influenced strongly by the man in her life and while this is as it should be in everyday living,it may not work too well in matters of government policy
I believe a woman would be more sensitiv to world wide matters She would probably look out for our interests better too.
I do not feel that Hilary would be a good president though.
For everybody that does not like Hilary, please explain why. I am sure no one has a god logical explanation. You just "feel" that Hilary would not be a good president. Well, that's a good reason, isn't it...
I think that a woman would make a great, even the best president. We have everything that a man has and something more- big hearts. and after all don't forget that a president is not omnipotent. A president cannot solve our problems with a magic wand. There is he senate, and then there are us, the people. If you want something done, you have to demand, you have to help, you have to unite. There were and are a lot of women that are at the top of the political system in Europe. Look at Germany, Finland, even the traditionalistic UK. I guess Americans are so prejudiced and still great bigots and cannot open their minds. In the middle of the last century some American sociologist said that every BOY born in the US has a chance to become a president. Boy! How equal we are! Unfortunately we have not grown up since then. Unfortunately, judging from some of the posts here, women have not grown up... Hilary, you will have to wait, even though right now you are the best candidate.
GIRLFRIDAY if you are influenced so strongly by a man it does not mean that every woman is. I am not and I will never be no matter how much I love and respect my husband. I may always seek his advice as he seeks mine but I am the one to make the final decision. My point is that you should not project your weaknesses to other people and you should not stereotype.
The only drawback I can see for a woman president is health issues that women seem to be plagued with due to pms and menopause. I think that the demands of being president can be very high and physically challenging. But then, maybe having a woman president would finally get women's health issue to the forefront and we would get the true healthcare we really need.
I believe that a woman can bring a different depth of understanding to the Presidency.
She is more tuned in to certain issues that are important to our country
I thought a lot how it is possible that just over 1/2 of the women think they are good enough to be equal to men. I agree that women are different than men- only physically, though. But finally I got it. These women are scared. They are scared to open their eyes and see that they could have a different role than the one men have been trying to impose on them for centuries. The y are scared to see that they are not only good by the oven, in the kitchen, taking care of the MAN. They are scared to admit that there are women that can be more than that, that have achieved something. So when they see a strong and independent and capable woman, they get really scared... Well, it is time for you to stop being scared. It is time for you to open your eyes, and all independent and strong women will be there to help you.
I made a mistake can i take my vote back? I thought it meant that would hillary make a good president. I answered I don't know, mainly because I don't think she would make a good president.
