Of the following compliments, which would you want to hear the most?

As women, different things motivate us. A group of friends recently got together and starting comparing notes on compliments. One had recently been told that she was beautiful. She said that it made her day. Another said that she would prefer to hear that she is special.

Perhaps, different comments are appropriate at different times but, it got us thinking about what we most liked to hear. There doesn't seem to be a one size fits all.

What do you like to hear and why?

I love you (40.4%)

You're beautiful (23.8%)

You're smart (16.5%)

You're special (12.7%)

You're funny (6.5%)

I love you is something I heard so much in my past that I took it for granted. I hope someday I hear it again.

Beauty and love are something you always have on the inside. Being funny and special are earned. Being smart is something you learn.

I picked beautiful because I already know I am smart and I know my husband loves me...beauty, however, I guess I'm insecure about.

I went with "I Love You" because there is no other feeling in the world that means more coming from my son's mouth.

I like to hear that I am smart because it means someone is istening what I am saying, not just words coming out of my mouth.

I love you is usually said to you by the people that you love. So the compliment carries more weight because it is only voiced by the most important people in your life.

I love being told I am either pretty or beautiful since I have been insecure about my looks. I know I am not ugly but I don't feel attractive at times. It is something I only really want to hear from the one guy that is really important in my life.
