With Amazon’s announcement this week that sales of digital books were greater than sales of hardbacks, it’s clear that e-readers are here to stay. What do you think about this shift in the reading experience? Are you or do you see yourself becoming a convert?
I love them and I have an e-book reader (12.2%)
I prefer the physical experience of a book or magazine (34.9%)
I'm not planning to get an e-reader but I think it is a neat device and can be very convenient (52.9%)
I have a Nook and love it! I went of vacation recently and was able to carry all of my summer reading ( eight books) with me on the plane. Best non-stop flight ever!
My son has who is 37 has 2 ibooks and says that is the only way to go. I would like sometime to have 1 also.
My son who is 37 has 2 ibooks and he just loves them. I hope he will get me one as a gift sometime.
I love the smell of new books, the turning of the page, and being able to share them with friends and family afterward. I love the book stores. It's going to be a sad day if the paper book is replaced by electronics.
As a librarian, whatever gets people reading especially the children.
I might consider buying a kindle or something like it in the near future but I do still love the feel of a book in my hands!
I like these. I tried out the one from Barnes and Noble, my only thing is what if you drop it on accident. That is a very expensive book you just lost where as a paper back or hard back can be really cheap and wont break if dropped. Ill stick with the my physical books!!!
I have the Nook by Barnes and Noble. I really like it. Once I start reading I forget that I am not actually reading a paper book. The page looks like a paperback. Although it is much cheaper to borrow books from the library, I still find this to be a great item. I can purchase a book anywhere without having access to a computer.
I really prefer to read a book because it is easier on my eyes and I can take it most anywhere. There are times I don't want to be constantly tethered to electronics, so a hard copy book is my #1 choice.
I always think of myself as one who is willing to grasp and try all new technology BUT call me old fashioned - give me a book anytime. I have researched the pros and cons of both and the hard copy book always comes out the winner. Nothing like sitting in bed at night with a book and a glass of wine to relax before going to bed!
