Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Will this be another holiday where our shrinking wallets speak?! Are you planning to celebrate? Will you be spending less this year?

Nothing. I never buy gifts for Valentines Day. (16.7%)
I rent our girls a movie and let them have a "picnic" in the livingroom while Hubby and I share a wonderful meal in the dining room. My girls don't complain too much because I make sure to get them special desserts :->
My boyfriend and I are spending a night in a local hotel and enjoying a nice dinner.
I put a homemade card ( made with my 3 year old daughter) in his lunch bag so that he gets it in the middle of the day... we usually just stay in and enjoy dinner together... and now that we have a 6-month old son, its hard to just get out...
We are going to see KEITH SWEAT! I am so excited. We are not spending any more than usual, but this year there is going to be a great concert at Pierre's....
I normally don't buy gifts. I prefer to spend that they with my significant other and go out for a dinner or have some drinks.
My husband's birthday is the week after Valentine's Day, so I just got him something small - it was under $10, but I think he'll like it.
candy and love gifts for everyone-what a great day to let people know you care
This year my husband and I are planning to go out on the Friday or Sunday. This way we will avoid the crowds and can pick a reasonably priced restaurant, which should leave us with enough money for our presents.
We will go out to eat (probably at Olive Garden since we have free giftcards for them) and I bought him a nice sweater.
We're always finding little ways to save money but still want to have those special moments together. Little things like a a dollar movie theatre, or checking dvd's out at the City Library are LIKE a date but practically free. Instead of going to a spa and having treatments, we will give each other a massage, or making a special dinner together at home. But I think Valentine's Day is a nice time to splurge a little on each other. :D
