Considering the downturn in the economy, are you more likely to buy store brands (such as generic or private label brands)?

We all have our favorite brands.  The ones that no matter what the coupon discount is off that comparable "other" brand, we will still by our favorite.  With the current economic environment, are you more likely to switch from national brands to purchase less expensive store or private label brands?

Do you think the quality is comparable?

No, I will stick with the name brands that I know and trust (0.0%)

Yes, I will purchase more store brands to save money (0.0%)

The same - I won't change my brand preferences because of the economy (0.0%)

I won't change the kind of food products I buy. In the scheme of the things food prices dont have that much of a price difference to matter to me. A dollar here, fifty cents there. I want quality versus quantity. I will look for sales on the top quality food I like and stock up when it is on sale which I didnt do before.

I plan to continue using cents off coupons and sale ads for the name brand items my family prefers. There are some strore brands that actually save a bit more money and have a similar quality as name brands but for the most part using cpns and sale ads are more effective.

I can usually buy the name brand products I use cheaper than the store brands. They tend to be higher in price. I look for the products I use to either be on sale or I look for coupons for then. But I dont just look at one store I shop around when I can to see> I also check the sale papers to see whats on sale for that week and where.

I have found that where I shop affects my costs just as much as the brands I choose. Choosing a discount store can save me 10-20% on my grocery bill.

I use Coupons, to save on name brand products. However, I do use the store brands quite frequently, especially the Great Value brand at Wal Mart

I only buy things that are on sale and I have a coupon for. Buy doing this, I save much more money than by buying store brands. On my last big shppoing trip, the bill was $207 and I ended up spending $39 OOP.

I use coupons so I try to stick to my brands. I find that if I have a coupon, most times my brand will cost me just the same as the store brands.

Times are tight and money is hard I loved coupons before and I love them even more now. Some store brands that I have tried in the past have not performed well so there are some things I don't care how much they cost, otherwise if I have a coupon and I need it I don't care what brand it is. Besides my family could care less as long as it tastes good.
