Shop using both a cash-back site and a coupon code combined to get the most savings. I use BigCrumbs for cash-back and the AFullCup forums and FrugalInspiration forums for coupon codes and savings alerts.
start shopping for christmas on december 26th...that way your all done by the first of the year and you saved yourself a bundle of money and a lot of time.
I "google" the name of the store and the word "coupon" and usually get several sites with coupon codes for that store. There are a couple of good sites where the coupons haven't expired. I also shop through UPromise so I can get % back from my purchases, in addition to using the codes.
Look for Refurbished items at Amazon.com or within department stores
I always use coupons and look for sales to make the value of them more efficient, especially double coupon days for the items I need.
I shop second hand for items. If you look carefully, you can find like new or even new items that someone decided not to keep. Look at Craig's List, Ebay, Overstock.com auctions, and yes, even Goodwill or local consignment stores.
I look for good in store deals and I always make a plan on Black Friday to get the best deals. Last year I bought about $1000 in merchandise for less than $500.
I normally shop on Black Friday & use what coupons I can find
I watch for sales and comparison shop online before going shopping.
I use my survey money and gift card incentives to buy Christmas and other gifts through the year. we are on a very fixed income and it doesnt allow for extras so I do as many surveys and product trials as I can, and it usually ends up we have a very nice holiday!
