If you were given the power to make changes that would improve your shopping experience, what type of retail store would you most want to impact?

How many times have you gone into a store and thought, "Why is it like this? It could be so much better!" From the long lines at the wholesale clubs (because only half of the lanes are open!) to rude and inattentive sales people to messy racks at some stores where you can't find your size in the place its meant to be!  Some of our shopping experiences seem ripe for improvement!

If you were given the chance to make a shopping experience better, which type of store would it be and why?

Grocery Store (36.2%)

Department Store (7.6%)

Mass Merchandiser (Wal*Mart, Kmart, Target) (39.1%)

Club Store (Costco, Sam?s, etc.) (4.9%)

Discount Store (TJ Maxx, Filene?s, etc.) (6.5%)

Drug Store (1.6%)

Big Box Retailer (Home Depot, Staples, Toys R Us, etc.) (3.8%)

If you were given the power to make changes that would improve your shopping experience, what type of retail store would you most want to impact?

I wish grocery stores had enough cashiers. Also the express lane is for 10-15 items not 20+. I wish that they would monitor that better.

I wish store like walmart and others like it would widen their aile (like in the baby department it is so hard to get around with a cart. and if someone is already in an aile forget about even trying to get in there until they are done.

Why should I have to go to a grocery store and stand 10 deep in a checkout line. It would also be nice if they would give some sort of discount or other incentive for scanning your own groceries. Grocery chains have made a bundle on customers scanning and bagging their own items, couldn't they give a little back to the consumer?!?!

I like Wal-mart because if your looking for a certain seosonal item it is usually there all year long. No matter what the season. All you have to do is ask someone and they will help you find it.

My gripe about Wal-mart is the fact that you find the item try it like it and it's not there anymore OR if you do find it again find when you get home with it the quality is just not there like the item you bought before. Who gives them the right to decide what we want or do not want. Greyfeir

I would add more check out lines in the mass retailers like wal mart it always figures u get there and get stuck with the choice between 2 lines long and longer and the cashiers act at times as if its your fault or that you should seem grateful they are doing their job I miss that about smaller stores like super freash

I would like to impove the mass merchandisers by having more registers open, especially during the lunch hour (12 noon through 2:00) when many of us run errands rather than actually eat lunch. So many cash registers, and so few cashiers... Always makes me question why I went there in the first place -- shoulda known better! I know -- the great ad prices, but our time waiting should be worth something, too!

Just wish grocery stores would put produce ailse last instead of first so it wouldn't get squished under all the groceries :(

Shopping is like a game - always looking for a great product at a great price. That's part of the fun of shopping the discount stores - find designer brands at a fraction of the price. I would shop them more, but I find I have to be in "the mood" to muster up the energy to go inside and face the chaos. Although there are marked departments there is still a lot more work to be done to remove that "energy hurdle". Looking for a non hunting experience.

I would love to see more help in all the stores. It seems that nobody wants to help you these days.
