Are you having your kids vaccinated for the H1N1 (swine flu) virus?

Access to the H1N1 vaccine has slowly become available across the country, but some parents are still having trouble getting their children vaccinated.

Have you had your kids vaccinated?  If so, where did you get them vaccinated?  Did they get a shot or the inhaled mist?  If you are choosing to not have your children vaccinated, why not?

I already had my kid(s) vaccinated (21.6%)

I want to get my kid(s) vaccinated but can't get access to the vaccine (10.7%)

I've been able to get some of my kids vaccinated, but not all of them (3.5%)

I'm unsure about whether to get my kids vaccinated (25.3%)

I'm definitely not having my kids vaccinated (38.7%)

Are you having your kids vaccinated for the H1N1 (swine flu) virus?

I've had an appointment 2 times with our regular doctor, and both times they've run out before it was our turn. Also, the local schools here have held a vaccination night twice, but we were unable to get it then as well. I would really like to get this for them, but I don't know when it will be available again, and the word is that you can't go to other counties. You must live in the county in which you get the vaccine. Maybe soon...

My family has never received a flu shot. We are pretty healthy and I am not a big believer in flu shots!

I would gladly have my kids vaccinated, however they would require the two shot version & that contains mercury and I won't do mercury shots with my kids.

I don't get the flu vaccine for myself or my kids any year. Every time I had it done we always came down with the worst case of the flu possible - once the after effects lasted for a month even when the flu was gone - and yet when we aren't vaccinated we never get sick. Since this vaccine is made in the same way, I'm skeptical of its benefits. I've already had swine flu and I recovered in 7 days. It felt no better and no worse than the normal flu.

I find it odd how a medicine is introduced, then a year later the commercials to file claims against its horrible side effects start playing. I think Im going to let other people get their kids vaccinated first and see how it plays out. My kids are healthy and I'm fairly confident the regular flu shot is still good.

I totally agree with fajaer...I will not put anything into my children that has not been fully tested!
