With gas and food prices going up the only thing my family and I will be doing is watching movies at home with the blow up pool.

It depends on the 'vacation'. Local places such as the beach can still be done, but longer distances and other places such as Disney World, etc. will have to be put off this year!

It's a hard decision to make because it's a tradtion for my family to go to a vacation every year we might just have to drive to anthor small city or something .

My husband and I are taking advantage of the great deals that a lot of places are giving. No one is taking vacations, so trips are a little cheaper. It takes a lot of time to find a great deal and make sure that you are getting the best deal. But it is worth is if you can do it!

Just don't have the extra money to take a vacation...more important stuff to spend money on right now.

me and my family like to take "mini-vacations" we just go somewhere with in reasonable distance from our house and spend a day or get a cheap hotel and spend a nite or two. when i was younger we would take road trips. we'd randomly get up on a saturday morning throw sum stuff in a suitcase throw the cooler in the car and ride. along the way we would fill up the cooler with ice and stop here and there and pick up snacks and sandwich stuff. where ever we ended up thats where we slept (in a hotel or motel of course) and came back the next day. it was relatively cheap. either way spending time with your family and the ones you love is most important.....in my opinoin as long as your away from your normal setting and good memorites are made your on a vacation!! LOL

We have decided that since we just had a baby in march then it would be the smart thing to do to just do things locally and save the extra money towards our future! I just really hope that the economy shapes up so we can take our beautiful daughter on really fun vacations in the future!

Well before the this current economic downturn my family and I would have no limit for vacationing. Now we are actually looking at ways to vacation close to home.
