We asked this question about a year ago and thought that it would be fun to do it again!
As women, different things motivate us. A group of friends recently got together and starting comparing notes on compliments. One had recently been told that she was beautiful. She said that it made her day. Another said that she would prefer to hear that she is special.
Perhaps, different comments are appropriate at different times but, it got us thinking about what we most liked to hear. There doesn’t seem to be a one size fits all.
What do you like to hear and why?

Everybody wants to be Loved!
My husband is the best! I had a really hard time chosing which one to pick, because he says all of those to me. Howver when he says "Your Special" I don't really think it is a compliment! LOL... I ended up selecting I love you, hearing that from my husband and my children, melts my heart, and means more to me than anything!
Your beautiful means so many things to different people. I love you often gets said too quickly and out of habit (as in the Iloveyougoodbye) like at the end of a phone call. It's when I am feeling my lousiest that my hubby will say "you are beautiful" and I can see that he means it, and that means the world to me.Beauty isn't just on te outside.
I would love to be told that I am special because I think everyone wants to know that they are important and matter to someone.
I love to hear I love you from my family. An occasional You are special would be nice to. I have a really close relationship with my husband, but I always love to hear I love you as well as tell him and my kids.
I think as we age we know we are loved, we know our own beauty, whether inside or out, funny is an occasional thing----who wants to be funny all the time. We are special to our family and loved one----to be considered smart at any age is always a compliment!
In my busy family, compliments don't seem to come often enough. Nothing is better than hearing "I love you, Mom" from my kids, or even "luv ya hon" from my husband!
I chose "I love you" because in the past year those precious words have come to mean so much. My husband's brother past away in November and the last words he heard us say were "I love you." My other 33 year old brother-in-law last August was diagnosed with a very rare malignant brain tumor. I always tell him, or my sister I love you every time we part or end a phone conversation. My twelve year old twin boys will still say "love you Mom" before bed and I cherish every hug or forehead kiss I still get from them. I have learned through grief, loss and prayer always tell your family and friends "I LOVE YOU." Life throws us all curve balls and we never know when our "I LOVE YOU" could be our last words said or heard.
I can never get enough of my little ones talling me "I love you mommy".
I'd like to hear them all but I chose funny, If I'm funny to someone that means I made them laugh or smile and we both feel good!
