Recently, the pain relief medication, Motrin, ran an online ad on the company’s website. It was about “baby wearing” — i.e. carrying a child in a sling or a wrap, rather than pushing them in a stroller or carrying them in your arms.
Moms did not respond well to the ad. They were offended that Motrin suggested that they carry their babies as a "fashion accessory" and that it was not necessarily good to carry their babies around. Clearly the point of the ad was to show that carrying your baby might cause back pain and that Motrin should be your solution.
Motrin responded by pulling the ads. We were curious how many people actually were aware of this? Were you aware? What was your take on this?
Yes (9.8%)
No (90.2%)
I was not aware of this ad bou am glad that it was pulled!
This country is just going crazy! Everything has to be politically correct. Now the way you travel your child! Oh brother! What is wrong with "carrying" your baby? It keeps them close to you and is nurturing to them! Give me a break!
I never saw the ad but I really wonder just how many people really found this offensive or was it just a small minority. I sometimes think that we look at things to complain about instead of actually looking at the big picture.
I thought it was silly people are who they are and i bet some women actually feel that way
This is rediculous!!! People overreact so badly!
o god people have no life i have a back problem from carrying my kid haha but i love them newaz lol
I personally didn't see the ad, but from the description it seems as though it was another case of people overreacting.
you have to be kidding me. Maybe these Moms better take care of the children instead of spending time complaining to Motrin.
I'm sorry but babies are heavy! I carried my daughter in a carrier (that looked like a backpack worn on the front ) when she was little and I needed motrin by the end of the day. Try carrying around a baby at that awkward stage when you have to have them and the carseat in your arms. The carseat/carrier adds an extra 15 pounds.
That's ridiculous. People are way too sensitive and too easily offended over trivial things.
