I always like for online discount codes whenever I order anything. I also use coupons for everything possible. I belong to many survey sites and save the points to use for gift cards and checks.

A lot of stores will match competitor's advertised prices on the same items. --I've found that many local retailers are glad to do this to prevent business walking out the door to go to the big chain retailers. WalMart has always done ad matching... For those of you that like to shop the day after Thanksgiving here is a tip that we follow to avoid some of the big lines. Find the items you'd like on Thanksgiving day, see if WalMart has the same item in store, bring your ad and shop any time after midnight to pick up the same items. We've done this for years and have been able to get almost every toy for the kid's at the lowest price without waiting in the cold and fighting the crowds! --This also applies to electronics etc... Just remember your ads. :o)

I like to combine offers, coupon + online offer, or in combination with a courtesy card etc. Grocery stores are awesome for this, I use a clipped or printed coupon in combination with what ever items are currently on sale (weekly instore sale items). Great savings!

For big tag items, I shop around. Either in stores or online, check store ads. I find I can get the best price(most of the time) at Amazon.com.

Just wait a while and the price will come down. Lots of time to less than half what it is when it first hits the market. Am also a huge fan of coupons. You can save a lot of money that way.

I research and compare prices online from as many different retailers that I can in order to find the best price for the item I am looking to buy.
