As this holiday shopping season is nearing, how much do you plan to spend?

The holidays are fast approaching and with them, all the gift giving and celebrations.  Money will be spent, but it is a matter of how much and on what.  Whether what and how you buy are determined by your household financial situation or are a reflection of values (from buying local to possibly paying more for more sustainable products or foregoing products altogether and buying experiences for your loved ones), things likely change from year to year.  So, have you given it any thought?

More than I did last year (9.6%)

The same as I did last year (30.4%)

Less than I did last year (52.5%)

I'm not sure (7.6%)

I'm never really sure what i am spending until i get there.lol..i always flip flop from one gift item to another. Sadly money isn't going very far these days with all these terrible price increases. It's hard just to pay these $400. elec.bills,$5.for a gallon of gas,$4.99 for a gallon of milk,etc.etc. so i don't believe i will be going to overboard with presents this year. However, i do have a 4yr old, so......we will see...lol

Have already ztarted buying things for the holidays, looking for good prices. Costco's chocolates and cookies always make generous gifts with value for the money. Looking for quality as well as price, but trying not to get carried away by the Season. Online shopping offers many alternatives, often better prices and often with reviews of the products, saving gas.

Paying for the necessities is hard enough . . . I put myself on a spending diet and am buying no new clothes or books this year. I will have enough for gifts, but less than last year.

    I'll be spending the same.

I had to laugh at the "true" meaning of Christmas. All ye holy rollers need to remember Christmas means something different to those of use who don't buy your theories.

I hope to be spend the same as last year but with the price of eveything increasing. I guesse that is just wishful thinking! I guesse if we spend the same amount of money we'll get a whole lot less. (I'll be out looking for good deals)

My hubby and I didn't really spend much last year so this year we will probably do the same.

We love Xmas and try to spend what we can afford. We have a large family and in the past few years started drawing names..

I only have one son and he has no wife or kid yet .. So we try to get him everything we can afford and not charge ...

We are getting ready to start shopping, this year we want to get a head start ..
