As this holiday shopping season is nearing, how much do you plan to spend?

The holidays are fast approaching and with them, all the gift giving and celebrations.  Money will be spent, but it is a matter of how much and on what.  Whether what and how you buy are determined by your household financial situation or are a reflection of values (from buying local to possibly paying more for more sustainable products or foregoing products altogether and buying experiences for your loved ones), things likely change from year to year.  So, have you given it any thought?

More than I did last year (9.6%)

The same as I did last year (30.4%)

Less than I did last year (52.5%)

I'm not sure (7.6%)

As this holiday shopping season is nearing, how much do you plan to spend?

I'm going to try and spend less...every year whether it be for christmas, birthdays or just little here and there gifts and shopping, I ALWAYS use coupons...You wouldn't believe how much you can save. I have two reallllly great sites that other a lot of the different store coupons, grocery coupons and product samples! If anyone would like to have them, they are: www.mysavings.com and www.printable-coupons.blogspot.com hopefully that helps someone

I will be spending more. Not by choice, the cost of living keeps going up. No matter how much you try to get around it you simply can't.

There is less money this year. more collage tuition, and everything has gone up. I told my kids a list of five and maybe you will get many presents and that is a big maybe. May have to cut it to 3.

Prices seem to increase every year, this year I had to quit working completly because I gave birth to triplets....so them as a surprise plus our two year old makes our budget much tighter than we planned.

I have started to cut down on spending this year, but really have been spending much less for a few years now since my son left home recently and don't spend much on any gifts that I do buy at the holiday season
