Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.
We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!
Yes, and I was satisfied with my purchase (34.4%)
Yes, and I was disappointed in my purchase (26.0%)
No, but I would consider it (30.2%)
No, I don't trust products advertised on TV (9.3%)
I bought yoga toes from the same maker as ped egg. It sates one size fits all... That is not true for small feet. I feel it was a waste of money.
I bought the "BumpIt" and I love it!!! I also got the PedEgg, and my husband loves that one :-)
oh, I forgot to mention that I NEVER order them directly from the TV ad. I always buy them at CVS or Bed Bath and Beyond! That way you have easy returns, and you don't have to pay for the over-inflated S&H charges!!
I purchases some hair com thingys that were "as seen on TV" but they were not nearly as easy to use as they were supposed to be!
My daughter-in-law bought a Ped Egg and let me try it. I loved it so much I had to get my own.
My husband buys items from informacials. They are always crap! I, on the other hand, can be quite the cynic. If it sounds too good to be true, then it is!
Many years ago my parents bought the V-Slicer, and I then grew up using it. Once I moved out, it was one of the first things I bought!! more reciently however I have bought smoth away, it's okay, it just takes time to get the hair away!! I have also bought the Ped Egg, and love it!! I normally don't buy these things right from the TV I wait for them to appear at Wal-greens or Shopko and then get them.
The Proactive Acne products were really a wasted effort. Saw zero results after 3 months of using the product. Glad that I could return it for my money back.
years ago I bought a hair care product..it worked just as it said it would. I was quite pleased
My only real complaint is packaging on these products that is designed to create the illusion of more in the container than you actually get. It's sort of like the trend in packaging of perfumes in really wonderful, artistic, often blown glass bottles. This almost more than the smell of the eau de cologne is a better lure to purchase than the contents they contain than the product. Also, Health and Beauty products advertised on television are frequently for mature skin care and the product identified as something to reverse the "signs of aging" are demonstrated on and associated with "women just like you" but are probably between 23-30 years old.. Just like me with 25 year old skin at my age. Awww, you have to be joking and think I'm pretty stupid and have no common sense in the choices I make.
