I'm more likely to choose a store brand (49.1%)

If you had to replace a favorite brand name product with a cheaper product, are you more likely to choose a cheaper name brand or a store brand?

For me, it usually just depends on what's on sale & what i have a coupon for. There are a few name brands that I refuse to compromise on & would be in a sorry state if they discontinued those particular products. Otherwise, I love to try new products & shake things up a little.

THere are some store brands that I trust as much as many of the name brands.Like everyone else I compare ingredients. If the name brand is cheaper or i have a coupon that makes it cheaper I buy name brands.

It doesn't matter. You get what you pay for!

I shop at a Kroger store, and they have some excellent store brand items including Organic and Natural foods and a lot of their store brand stuff (Kroger, Private Selections, etc.) is better quality and better tasting (and cheaper) than the name brand items.

I have a friend whose father owned a grocery store when he was younger and he's the one who told me that the generic/store brand products are oftentimes made by the same manufacturer of the brand name products. In essence, they are the same product. I usually choose the store brand/generic if it is available, except I'm weird about mayonnaise and have to have "the best".

I think the store brand in many instances are as good as Brand name.

I don't mind purchasing a cheap brand but you can't downgrade on everything. Some cheaper products just dont cut it.

I have no problem trying any of the cheaper brands. Over the past year I have found that there are some store brands that are of better quality than name brands.
