Putting yourself in Silda Wall Spitzer?s position, would you stand by your man as she did when the news of his philandering broke?

Silda Wall Spitzer is just the latest politician's wife who's had to endure the embarrassment of her family's personal affairs being broadcast to the world- Remember Dina McGreevey?! So, we were curious, if you were in the same situation, would you, as Tammy Wynette sang, "stand by your man"?

Or would you tell him that he was "on his own"? We want to know what you think!

Yes (9.5%)

No (61.3%)

I'm not sure (29.3%)

I think the only reason she is sticking by him is purely politics....once the spotlight is on someone else, I hope she has the self respect to tell him to "take a hike". No one, male or female, deserves to be humiliated in public like she is every time she stands next to him. Yes, I believe in second chances but only if the offence is forgetting my birthday or our anniversary, this offence is unforgivable!

I would conduct myself with grace and appropriate public deportment for the sake of the children who are caught up in the hurricane of horrid media exposure. Out of public eye, hell would have no wrath akin to mine. Rest assured, the marriage would be over and I would not be taking any prisoners. 80 K spent on prostitutes - instead of being in savings for his children and their education and well being?!!? This was calculated and ruthless betrayal on a grand scale. Some things are simply unforgivable. I can not imagine she will stay on once the dust settles and she can move forward. My heart hurts for her and her children. Clinton was bad enough and I still wonder at Hillary, however Bill was the President. This is far worse, and to my mind Silda need not endure further humiliation.

She should be standing by her children, supporting them & shielding them from anything that may come due to their father's poor choices. And he should have to face the media alone...after all, Silda was not the one running around with prostitutes-she shouldn't have to stand there & answer for it as if she had a choice in the matter. I'm not a part of their marriage, so I can't say what they should do beyond that--but before my husband & I ever went out on our first date, we discussed that we each believe that if you feel the need to step out on your partner, you just need to step ALL the way out of the relationship.

There is no way in hell that I would have stood up there with that slime ball. He is the one that did the crime so he should have to face the music all my his lonesome. She should have gone into seclusion with her girls and shielded them from all the media coverage. I agree that she looked like a fool. She needs to get a lawyer and move on. He certainly didn't care about her well being when he did what he did so why should she now stand by him?

I'm not sure what I would do. You have to remember there are always 2 sides to all things and we don't know the whole story. It looks bad for him and she may be a fool but maybe she has something up her sleeve so she stays. It may be more beneficial for her to do this.

I think most politicians' wives get so used to the perks they are willing to overlook the public humiliation and scrutiny. I don't think there is much love in the marriage or why else would he do that to her? Maybe she thinks that perks are better than nothing?

how embarrassing for her and her family, this guy is a hypocrite and doesn't deserve a sweet lady like her. just another fine example of men who say one thing and do another.

They are filthy rich people. I'd demand millions be given to me. then I'd slap him with a divorce that would rock his world. Of course, he'd be out of the house maybe living with his family. I'd be ruthless to him and the press. then laugh all the way to the bank with his money.

I think she is trying to save face by standing beside him when he made that public statement. I imagine she will keep her distance from him in private. If it were me, I would let him sleep in the garage...:)... Seriously, I would see that he had his own private room; and let him sleep alone at home.
