Would a woman make a good US President?

We had to ask!  With the campaign for the 44th US President in full swing, we are in the midst of a historic election.  Senator Clinton could very well be the Democratic nominee for President in the 2008 elections.

As a woman, do you think that a woman could be a good US President?  Better than a man?  What do you think that a woman might bring to the table that a man could not?  Please share your thoughts.

Yes (54.7%)

No (12.4%)

Maybe (32.9%)

Any QUALIFIED human would make a great president regardless of gender.

I agree any QUALIFIED person would make an excellent president. I just think that some of our candidates are not QUALIFIED!

I believe that women are not the right people for president. It is a job that requires a lot of strength and stress, and women are typically very emotional. I think emotions would get too much in the way of making decisions for our country. What kind of decisions would have been made during 9/11 if we had a female pres? Would we be at war or no? Women also typically do not want their child(ren) to go into the military, so what does that mean for our troops when we actually need to be out there fighting?

I believe that a woman can do as good a job as a man as President. However, Hillary Clinton loses my vote for other reasons.

I think a woman would do a fine job as President. Not ANY woman, a qualified woman. Maybe in 2012 there will be a qualified woman running so we can find out.

We as a country are prime for a change! A woman in office would be able to bring to light issues that effect the country as a whole from a woman's perspective. It would be about time, not since the suffrage movement has this country been ready for a woman to take the reigns.

I think that it depends on the woman. I wouldn't vote for someone just because she is a woman. Would I vote for Hilary? Absolutely not. 1st term senator? She doesn't have the experince(being the presidents wife is NOT experience). Would I vote for a woman who had the experience? Absolutely, but it is my opinon that the President of the United States should have military experience regardless of their sex or race.

All we have had are male presidents so far, I think, that a woman might just be what we need to fix this nation. Who knows?

If you think about it...we're behind in the times. England had a woman Prime Minister YEARS ago. I also think that a woman is both strong enough to lead the country and to keep it safe as she would her children. There's the power and sensibility men don't often give us credit for these days. No offense to Bush supporters, but I sincerely don't see how a woman could do any worse.
