Part of my job as a mom is to prepare my son to live on his own....in college and beyond. For the past 4 years he has had little daily chores that he does and each year I teach him to do some new things. This summer we will concentrate on cooking skills. Currently, he cleans the sinks in our bathrooms, helps to load/unload the dishwasher and sorts, folds and puts away his own laundry. He is a great helper and we are very proud of him, and encourage him on what a great job he does. It takes more of my time to teach him how to do things, of course, but he is growing steadily in these lifeskills. Yeah for him!

My little one is 14 months if anything she will attempt to help me but make a bigger mess. =))

We don't really dedicate a "spring cleaning" day. We do a little everyday. Also my children are 3 years old and 5 months old, a little young to really help. My 3 year old loves to help but...

I don't have a child of my own, but I care for my boyfriends son when he is traveling. I always set up chores for him to ensure the apartment is tidy when his dad returns home. He is always proud of what chores he accomplishes & can't wait to show me. Plus, his father appreciates the contribution.

My daughter is 12yrs old so it is hard to get her interested in any work around the house. She just doesn't do a good job so I would rather do it myself.

Kids are a huge help for me around the house during spring cleaning. We have fun doing it.
