What kind of mobile phone service do you currently have?

Annual plans were once the only option, but now mobile service providers offer a range of ways to pay.

Do you pay for texting or Internet capabilities separately, as well as your phone calls?  What kind of plan do you have, and what kind of plan would you like to have?

Month-to-month plan (43.3%)

Annual plan (44.0%)

Pay-as-you-go plan / prepaid phone (12.7%)

I have a family plan and I also hate that if you need a new phone the are outrageous in price and the company I'm with and have been with for years is doing a way with the yearly contracts and going to an unlimited thing but if you are a customer already you have to pay $39.99 for each phone on your planto switch over to this new formatting of the company. I think this is really stupid and why should I pay a new customer fee when I've been a customer of theirs for years.

I have a 2 year contract but pay extra for a limited text and pics package. The best part of my plan is all my family and friends are with the same company so our minutes to each other are free.

I'm with Minnow. I said month to month but really, I'm 1.5 years through a 2 year contract. But I'm thinking of getting a data plan so I can go online, in which case, I will start a 2 yr contract all over again. I'm with Sprint. (am I allowed to say that?)

I have 2-year agreement through my cell provider, although I pay for it monthly. I have one of the cheapest plans available ($39.99), which includes 450 minutes of talk time, that I don't think I've ever gone over - even with my house phone being forwarded to my cell when I'm out and about. I pay an additional $10 per month for unlimited text messaging, because that's the form of communication I use most. I wish they would offer a plan that had less talk minutes and included text messaging - at a reasonable price. It seems like having a cell phone is more of a "necessity" these days, but for people who are on very limited incomes, they should offer a more reasonable plan that allows you to have what you want and need, and not have to pay for things you don't.

We just switched to a family plan with a 2 year contract (upgraded the phone) that has unlimited texting, mobile to mobile and the ability to select numbers for unlimited calling. We also have a seperate plan for internet as an add on but only for one phone.
