The summer is officially here! This is usually a time for many of us to hit the road and take those long awaited summer vacations.

However, the economic situation is having some rethink their summer vacation plans and anticipated spending.

    I love to go on vacation, see new places and stuff like that. But yeah I guess the economy is not really doing well these days. So I really haven't decided yet.

    Yes, times are getting so much more difficult than before. It seems that the focus is so much bases on everything going to a high point where no one can afford anything at this point. I am penny pinching and this year we will not be going out like we use to to. I stop allowing the children to eat out fast food. I am cooking every night and dishing out left overs. I have never seen the economy so bad like this before in my life. We are going to stay at home and do local things within the area and spend time doing family arts and crafts, tv night, movie night etc...

    This is one area we can save a lot on! Not driving far saves on gas (and it's now at $2.49 per gallon and climbing and also saves on hotels, excursions etc. Great way to save! Normally we spend about $2000 on a vacation and in this economy we can use that money.

    I will be managing my monies this year on the neccessity of things needed. Although, I feel that everyone deserves some sort of a vacation, it's just not fesible this year for us. But we will still have fun as a family!

    No vacation here. Layoffs took away that idea.

    The economy has really put us under so no vaca this year

    I would love to go to a nice resort but I work retail and I am always in high demand!

    I cannot even find a job. It's depressing.

    It really hard to make it as it is. Saving money is what we are trying to do, already dont have it.

    I will be lucky to be able to afford going to the pool a few times this summer!!!
