I like starkist tuna in the can because my Mom gave it to me as a kid. I usually buy the one packed in water because it is healthier than the one packed in oil.

I too only buy tuna packed in water, but I do buy some of the store brands. I have found some are really good and cost less. I would rather always have the pouchs but only when I can catch a good sale or have good coupons.

For me the most important thing is taste and that there are consistently no bones. I've tried many brands and am always up to trying new ones but I found that Albertsons store brand was the best for the price with a good flavor and I've never gotten any bones which I have gotten both bones and mediocre flavor and texture with Chicken of the Sea, Starkist is good though. Now that I live in VA, with no Albertsons out here, I'm trying all the different brands again to find which one I like.

We buy tuna in water that has no added preservatives and is low in mercury. Henry & Lisa's is the best, but expensive.

I don't buy tuna very often so when i do i buy what's on sale/what i have a coupon for or the store brand .I prefer the can over the pouch & even though i know packed in water is more healthy i still will buy the tuna packed in oil...it taste better to me.I feel i can indulge a little when i buy it packed in oil because i don't eat it very often.

I LOVE the packets. They seem more expensive but the 6 oz pack has more than twice the tuna in a 6 oz can. The can weighs the water too... there is no water in the pack. It tastes so much fresher than the canned garbage. The first time I ever tried the tuna in a packet, I opened it, took a taste, and then stood there in the kitchen eating it right out of the packet. I had to get another one out to make the tuna salad I had planned on!
