What are your tips for saving money on big ticket holiday items?

This holiday shopping season, many of us are turning to "creative" means to getting the items on our list at a discount.  We are looking to buy those big ticket items but, save as much as we can.

    local newspapers and online printable coupons works for me, just search for the printable coupons that you want , mostly you find a deal

    I have been using mypoints, who knew that it could add up so quickly.. I am also couponing, money is so tight right now.. A full cup has helped me see the coupon light.. :)

    I think that it is necessary to do all of the above. I love promo codes and sometimes call or write the company for a discount or coupon.

    I like to use E coupons on my Kroger card. You can use an E coupon and a paper coupon on the same item to double your savings. I even get products for free at Krogers this way.

    Another slickdeals.net fan - sometimes I just google the store name + coupon code and I'll find some other sites with codes, too.

    I go out on Back Friday, and check out the store adds and purchase what is cheapest. Also, some stores price match so you won't have to go out of your way to another store. ~misty~

    I try to comparison shop. I also look online for the article and if it is a big savings, I order it.
