The current economic situation in the US is causing many people to tighten their spending.
If you plan to pull back on your spending, where will you be spending less and why?
Grocery Store (11.3%)
Department Store (39.5%)
Mass Merchandiser (Wal*Mart, Kmart, Target) (22.7%)
Club Store (Costco, Sam?s, etc.) (4.0%)
Discount Store (TJ Maxx, Filene?s, etc.) (4.0%)
Drug Store (1.8%)
Big Box Retailer (Home Depot, Staples, Toys R Us, etc.) (16.7%)
"All of the above" would be what I would have selected too. I also think it's a time to reflect on needs vs. wants and perhaps some good will come of it for all walks of life. There's an analogy about a shrub that is overgrown and unhealthy but with a little pruning and cutting back that shrub can come back stronger, more healthy and vibrant -- this is much like our economy...if we all cut back we can return stronger than before.
I shop around for the best deals but will not shop at walmart we also have a lot of bent and dent stores and they have great deals
I will only buy what I ABSOLUTELY MUST have that is NOT essential! The economy is too volitile! I also try and get as many samples thru freebie sites as i can to help our budget and cut down costs.
I need to eat daily. Clothing keeps a little longer. I'll be wearing the same style for a few season more.
There should be an all the above box lol everything is going crazy now
I will definately not be "over buying" of anything. I am sure many of us buy things, on the "just because" basis. Maybe we just want it or it's cute, or whatever frivilous reason we can come up with. I guess it's just the girly side of us. It's time to think first.
I use coupons at the grocery store and usually save 70%, just by buying the sale items and using coupons. I would stop spending at Department Stores like Macys.
I will only shop for my husband and children this holiday season.
I have cut out shopping at some of these stores all together. I have really cut back on spending at Wal-Mart, & Target although, I have started going to Walgreens & CVS more for the nessecities. They offer good reward programs & rebate. I really like the register rewards & I like that I can get my rebates on a reloadable giftcard & when I do I get a 10% bonus!
I will stop getting things like home decorations and gifts from places like TJMaxx (which I absolutely love to do.)
